Pipeline Owners can lock individual operations and Join stages to prevent Editors from modifying their configuration,
or to reduce the chances of an accidental edit by an Owner.
About locking
When an operation or Join stage is locked, anyone with access to the pipeline can click through to view its configuration,
but the parameters will not be editable. When an item is locked, an overlay appears over the editable area,
together with a label stating that it is ‘Locked for editing’.
Only an Owner can lock or unlock: they will be presented with a button to ‘Prevent edits’ or ‘Unlock to edit’.
Limitations
Note the following limits on locking:
Locked operations or Join stages can still be deleted, disabled or moved by anyone with access to the pipeline.
If the pipeline is reverted to a previous version, the locked status of items at the time the version was created will be restored. This could result in locked items becoming unlocked.
If an Editor duplicates a pipeline, they will become Owners of the duplicate and will consequently be able to unlock operations.
