About Clip From Column

Clip From Column removes all data to the right or left of a selected column.

Using Clip From Column

1. Select ‘Clip From Column’ from the Operations menu.
2. Select a column to be the Clip Column. All columns to the left or right of the Clip Column will be removed.
3. Select a Clip Direction: left or right.

Example

In the table below some notes on ‘LOB types’ have been added to the right of the data we require, so need to be removed.

ID	LOB	Amount	LOB types
1	car	100	Car insurance
2	life	1000	Life insurance
3	car	100

Select ‘Amount’ as the Clip Column and ‘Right’ as the direction. This results in:

ID	LOB	Amount
1	car	100
2	life	1000
3	car	100

Alternatively, to remove all columns to the left of the ‘Amount’ column, select ‘Left’ as the direction:

Amount	LOB types
100	Car insurance
1000	Life insurance
100
